Commends Troops’ Gallantry and Sacrifice

In a heartfelt message, Chief of Army Staff, Lieutenant General Taoreed Lagbaja, has extended his warm felicitations to the Nigerian Army family on the occasion of Eid-el-Kabir.

Recognizing the festival’s significance, General Lagbaja commended the troops and their families for their unwavering commitment and bravery in addressing the country’s security challenges.

Highlighting Eid-el-Kabir as a celebration of sacrifice, the Army Chief noted the occasion’s special resonance as it marks the end of his first year in office.

Reflecting on this period, General Lagbaja expressed gratitude for the relative peace achieved in previously troubled regions and acknowledged the immense sacrifices made by the Nigerian Army in combating terrorism, insurgency, banditry, and other crimes.

The Army Chief praised the troops for their loyalty, courage, and dedication to the nation, noting that many bear the physical and emotional scars of their service.

He called for collective support and understanding of the government’s reforms aimed at restoring economic prosperity, urging Army personnel and their families to renew their commitment to selflessness and patriotism.

General Lagbaja reaffirmed his dedication to providing effective leadership to ensure robust training, improved living standards, and operational effectiveness within the Nigerian Army.

He expressed profound appreciation to President Bola Ahmed Tinubu for his unwavering support, and also thanked the National Assembly, the Ministers of Defence, and the Chief of Defence Staff for their strategic guidance.

He also extended gratitude to Nigerians and the international community for their ongoing support and confidence in the Nigerian Army, looking forward to continued collaboration to overcome security challenges and foster economic growth.
