Celebrating 25 Years of Democracy: A Promise of More Dividends to Come – Speaker Abbas


The Speaker of the House of Representatives, Rt. Hon. Abbas Tajudeen, Ph.D, has congratulated Nigerians on Democracy Day, marking 25 years of uninterrupted democracy in the Fourth Republic.

Abbas noted that the country has made significant progress in the past 25 years and assured that the dividends of democracy will reach more Nigerians. He highlighted the significance of this year’s celebration, coinciding with the one-year anniversary of the 10th National Assembly.

The Speaker reaffirmed that democracy has come to stay in Nigeria, acknowledging the country’s growth in democratic experience and practice. He encouraged Nigerians to continue contributing to the country’s growth and development, promising a brighter future for all citizens.

Abbas urged Nigerians to support the government at all levels and remain law-abiding, emphasizing the collective responsibility of all stakeholders in making the government succeed.

He wished Nigerians a happy Democracy Day celebration.
