CDS Hosts Troops of Operation FANSAN YAMMA to Christmas Lunch, Pledges Continued Operational Commitment

The Chief of Defence Staff (CDS), General Christopher Gwabin Musa, has called on front-line troops to remain steadfast in their duty to safeguard Nigeria’s unity.

He made this appeal during a Christmas lunch organized on December 26, 2024, with troops of Operation FANSAN YAMMA in Sokoto State.

During the event, General Musa expressed deep appreciation for the sacrifices and dedication of the troops in maintaining peace and security across the country.

He highlighted the recent success of dislodging the re-emerged Lakurawa terrorists from their camps in Sokoto and Kebbi States, describing it as evidence of the Armed Forces of Nigeria’s (AFN) unwavering commitment to addressing security challenges nationwide.

“We remain resolute in sustaining the operational tempo across all theaters of deployment, both at home and abroad,” General Musa assured, pledging continuous support and resources to ensure the troops’ effectiveness.

The CDS also used the occasion to encourage unity and compassion among the troops while expressing gratitude to President Ahmed Bola Tinubu for his relentless support and confidence in his leadership.

He reaffirmed the Armed Forces’ loyalty to the Nigerian Constitution and thanked Sokoto State Governor, Dr. Ahmad Aliyu, for his assistance.

In a heartwarming gesture, General Musa visited wounded and sick soldiers of the 8 Division Nigerian Army in the hospital, further boosting morale among the troops.

Major General I.S. Ajose, the General Officer Commanding 8 Division and Commander of Sector 2, Operation FANSAN YAMMA, lauded General Musa for his unwavering commitment to the welfare and operational efficiency of the troops.

He described the Christmas feast as a reflection of the CDS’s support and an opportunity to celebrate the season, reflect on achievements, and reinforce team spirit.

“The courage, resilience, and professionalism of the troops have been instrumental to our successes,” Major General Ajose stated, commending their dedication to duty.

The event highlighted the Armed Forces’ commitment to operational excellence and troop welfare, while also fostering camaraderie during the festive season.
