The Crime Correspondents Association of Nigeria CCAN has expressed profound condolences to the Commissioner of Police, Federal Capital Territory (FCT) Command, CP Olatunji Disu, following the tragic death of his son in an auto accident.
The heartbreaking incident occurred on Monday, January 21, 2025.
In a press statement in Abuja, the association described the loss as an irreparable tragedy for a dedicated and hardworking officer who has significantly transformed the security landscape of the FCT since assuming office last year.
Under CP Disu’s leadership, the FCT has experienced a remarkable decline in crime rates, attributed to his unwavering commitment, the support of his family, and the cooperation of the Command’s management team and other stakeholders.
“We urge CP Disu to remain steadfast in his zeal and dedication to combating crime in the FCT, even in the face of this tragic loss,” the statement read.
The association also extended prayers for the repose of the soul of the deceased, asking Allah to grant him Al-Jannah Firdaus.
It further conveyed condolences to CP Disu’s family, the FCT Police Command, and journalists covering police activities in the region.
“May Allah, in His infinite mercy, give the family the strength to bear this profound loss,” the statement concluded.
This loss underscores the fragility of life, even for those at the forefront of safeguarding others.
As CP Disu and his family mourn, the FCT community continues to stand in solidarity with them during this challenging time.
