Badaru Hosts Jigawa Ex-Speakers, Dutse Traders, Receives Commendations for Security Efforts


The Honourable Minister of Defence, Mohammed Badaru Abubakar, CON, mni, over the weekend received two prominent delegations at his hometown the Forum of Immediate Past Local Government Speakers from Jigawa Stateand the Dutse Emirate Traders Association — in celebration of the successful Eid el-Kabeer festivities.

The Forum of Past Local Government Speakers, led by Alhaji Ali Zarada Gagarawa, comprised former council leaders who served during Badaru’s second tenure as Governor of Jigawa State.

The group pledged their continued support for the Minister and offered prayers for his success in his current role, particularly in enhancing Nigeria’s security landscape.

The event was attended by key political figures including the Chairman of the APC in Jigawa State, Alhaji Aminu Sani Gumel; Hon. Abubakar Sadiq Jallo, a member of the Jigawa State House of Assembly; and Hon. Ahmed Rufai, former Chairman of Gumel Local Government. They all reaffirmed their commitment to supporting Badaru’s initiatives in the defence and security sectors.

In a related development, the Dutse Emirate Traders Association, led by Alhaji Yahaya Rungumau, visited the Minister at his residence in Kano on Friday, June 20, 2025.

The group applauded Badaru’s ongoing efforts to improve national security, noting that the resulting stability has positively impacted trade and commerce nationwide.

Minister Badaru thanked both delegations for their support and assured them of his unwavering commitment to strengthening national security and fostering economic development.
