…. Says Nigeria security has improved under President Bola Ahmed Tinubu.
The Honourable Minister of Defence, H.E. Muhammed Badaru Abubabar CON, mni, has lauded the efforts of the Nigerian Armed Forces in enhancing national security, attributing the improvements to the leadership of President Bola Ahmed Tinubu GCFR.
In a statement during the Chief of Army Staff’s inaugural Annual Lecture series for 2024, organized by the Nigerian Army Resource Centre in Abuja, the Minister praised President Tinubu’s commitment to providing essential resources and funding necessary for the Armed Forces to combat insurgency, banditry, and other criminal activities plaguing the nation.
Minister Badaru highlighted a substantial increase in funding for the Armed Forces during President Tinubu’s administration, which has translated into notable successes in the ongoing fight against insurgency and banditry.
He emphasized that sustained support from the President has significantly contributed to the military’s achievements in restoring peace and security across the country.
Addressing the theme of the lecture, “Role of the Military in the Protection of Nigeria’s National Interest and Security,” Minister Badaru affirmed the government’s determination to maintain the progress made in addressing insecurity.
He underscored the importance of continued investment in the Defence Industries Corporation of Nigeria for the production of defense equipment and hardware, calling upon both individuals and corporate entities to contribute to this vital endeavor.
In recognition of his dedication and contributions to national security, the Minister was honored with an award presented by Mr. Tajudden Afolabi, Chairman of the occasion, on behalf of the Nigerian Army Resource Centre.
