Nigerian Army forces achieved significant victories across multiple states, neutralizing two terrorists in Taraba, thwarting a kidnapping in Kogi, and rescuing passengers.
Acting on actionable intelligence regarding terrorist movements in Taraba’s Mayinawa, Garin Daniel, and Garbatau areas, troops swiftly engaged and neutralized two terrorists. These areas had been plagued by frequent terrorist activities, posing a threat to local residents.
During the operation, troops recovered 2 AK-47 rifles, 4 AK-47 magazines, and 56 rounds of 7.62mm special ammunition. In Kogi State, vigilant troops disrupted a kidnapping attempt on passengers traveling along the Akpata – Obajana road in Lokoja Local Government Area.
Their timely intervention led to the rescue of the passengers and a hot pursuit of the criminals. Injuries sustained by some rescued passengers were promptly addressed at a nearby hospital.
In a separate successful raid, troops targeted a kidnappers’ hideout in the Kuyambana general area, along the Magawa-Migetso road in Zamfara State.
Engaging in a gun duel, the troops neutralized two insurgents and seized weaponry, including a pump-action gun, a locally fabricated gun, live cartridges, a locally made pistol, a handset, and a tying chain used for restraining victims. The camp was subsequently destroyed, further disrupting criminal activities in the region.
The Nigerian Army reaffirms its dedication to restoring peace and stability in troubled areas, emphasizing the importance of public support and cooperation in ongoing operations nationwide.
