The Executive Secretary of the Agricultural Research Council of Nigeria (ARCN), Dr. Abubakar Adamu Dabban, has felicitated with His Royal Highness, Alhaji (Dr.) Yahaya Abubakar, the Etsu Nupe, on the occasion of his 73rd birthday and 22nd anniversary on the throne.
In a congratulatory message issued on behalf of the Dabban family and the people of Niger State, Dr. Dabban described the Etsu Nupe as a father figure, mentor, and symbol of unity for the Nupe Kingdom and beyond.
He noted that since ascending the throne in 2003, the revered monarch, whose royal stool is situated in Bida, Niger State, has continued to provide wise leadership, strengthen traditional institutions, and promote peace and development within his domain.
Quoting a poetic tribute, Dr. Dabban said: “Nupe indigenes lift their voice in gratitude and in solemn choice. For in your strength, we see our part—a future bright, a nation’s heart.”
The ARCN Executive Secretary prayed for God’s continuous blessings upon the monarch, adding: “May God Almighty grant you more, with blessings rich and grace in store—health, wisdom, joy without end, a guiding light, our nation’s friend.”
He concluded with prayers for long life, sound health, and greater wisdom for the traditional ruler, noting that the Etsu Nupe’s “exemplary service, wisdom, and dedication to the Nigerian project continue to strengthen the fabric of our tradition and democracy.”
The statement was signed by Khadijat O. Ameen, Public Relations Officer, ARCN.
