Ambassador Gabriel Tanimu Aduda has officially assumed office as the new Permanent Secretary of the Ministry of Defence (MOD), pledging to build on the achievements of his predecessor, Dr. Ibrahim Abubakar Kana mni, and elevate the ministry’s operations to greater heights.
Speaking during the handover ceremony at Ship House, Abuja, Ambassador Aduda described his appointment as a homecoming, citing his military family background and familiarity with military veterans.
He acknowledged the commendable work of Dr. Kana and promised to consolidate on the progress made to ensure that past efforts yield lasting results.
“With the very good testimonies about the achievements of Dr. Kana, we shall take it further to the next level so that his efforts will not be in vain,” he said.
Ambassador Aduda emphasized the importance of honesty and integrity among MOD staff, noting that these qualities are essential for success.
He also expressed his commitment to staff welfare and called for their cooperation to achieve the ministry’s goals.
“I do not joke with the welfare of my staff. I urge you all to remain committed, courageous, and excellent in your duties,” he added.
Dr. Ibrahim Kana, in his remarks, thanked the ministry’s staff for their support during his tenure and expressed confidence in Ambassador Aduda’s ability to steer the MOD towards greater accomplishments.
The ceremony marked a new chapter for the Ministry of Defence, with expectations high for continued progress under Ambassador Aduda’s leadership.
