Once plagued by violent crime, Omu Aran is witnessing a remarkable transformation under the leadership of ACP Muazu Ismail.
His proactive approach to policing and infrastructural development has significantly reduced crime and restored confidence among residents.
Before his appointment, the town was a hotspot for criminal activities, including armed robberies and kidnappings. Notorious attacks on First Bank and Access Bank led to tragic losses, including the death of a pregnant woman.
However, since assuming office on July 27, 2024, ACP Ismail has introduced strategic measures that have reshaped security in the area.
By adopting a community policing approach, he strengthened the relationship between law enforcement and residents, fostering trust and cooperation.
Engaging with community leaders and stakeholders, he ensured that security concerns were promptly addressed, leading to a noticeable decline in crime.
Residents now speak of a renewed sense of safety, with one testifying that sleeping peacefully was once a luxury, but today, they can enjoy a full night’s rest without fear of attacks.
Beyond security, ACP Ismail has also championed a major infrastructural overhaul. Upon taking office, he initiated the renovation of the Omu Aran Area Command headquarters, addressing long-standing structural issues such as leaking roofs, cracked walls, and outdated electrical wiring.
Modern restroom facilities with functional water supply were installed, and essential office equipment, including chairs, tables, shelves, refrigerators, air conditioners, televisions, and fans, were provided.
To enhance surveillance, he introduced a dual rotating solar CCTV system and installed 20 solar-powered streetlights across key areas.
Recognizing the need for improved mobility, he facilitated the repair of three previously grounded patrol vehicles, while the command now operates four fully functional patrol vehicles, including a Hilux donated by Dr. Bishop David Oyedepo, Chancellor of Landmark University.
With these sweeping changes, Omu Aran has become an increasingly difficult place for criminals to operate. Residents now experience a sense of security that had been absent for years, as the police maintain a strong presence and actively engage with the public.
ACP Muazu Ismail’s leadership has not only revitalized security but has also set a new benchmark for effective policing and infrastructural development, ensuring that the town remains safe and well-equipped for the future.
End.
